SBAC Hosted Forum on Chicago Real Estate Transfer Tax

March 7, 2024: Chicago, Illinois – Today, the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) hosted a valuable forum where proponents and opponents of the ballot initiative to change the Chicago Real Estate Transfer Tax had the opportunity to present their perspectives to a zoom audience. Providing each side the opportunity to make their case and engage in Q&A was an important way to disseminate information to the small business community on this impotent topic.

Bring Chicago Home and the Building Owners and Management Association both presented their views on the ballot initiative and answered questions at the forum. “The SBAC was excited to facilitate the forum and provide a platform for advocates on both sides of the issue to make their case. Encouraging voter education and engagement is crucial for a healthy democratic process.” Elliot Richardson, President of SBAC.
